Rain in Venezia
A rainy morning twilight in Venice. I prepared the composition in the previous days and I waited the ideal weather conditions to take this photo. Thanks to the rain that was falling at the time of shooting, a middle focal length, and a targeted post production, I managed to get the level of three dimensionality I wanted through two different levels of detail on the foreground and on the second floor.
In the foreground are visible Piazza San Marco, Riva degli Schiavoni, Column of San Marco and Doge's Palace on the left. On the second floor there is the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, whose main element is the homonymous church. The two floors are divided by Bacino di San Marco.
From this shot you can see that in Venice the most buildings are not perfectly perpendicular but slightly pendulous.
I focused on a composition very special and sophisticated combined with unusual lighting conditions in order to create an original image in one of the most photographed cities in the world.
